Get on Board the Overnight Oats Train

Lydia Cotter - Naturopath

I love overnight oats...otherwise known at bircher muesli. They are so easy to prepare, packed full of nutrients and taste too good to be healthy...but they are super healthy.

Here is my go to recipe for the easiest, super healthy and creamiest overnight oats.

TIP: To save time on making this delicious brekkie bowl every day, simply tripple the ingredients to make a batch that lasts for a few days.

INGREDIENTS (Serves: 1)

  • One clean jar with lid

  • 1/4 cup of rolled oats

  • 2 tsp of chia seeds

  • 1/2 cup of milk (I use almond milk but you can use rice milk, oat milk, organic full cream cows milk or coconut milk)

  • 1 tbsp of nuts and/or seeds

  • 1 tsp of cinnamon

  • 1/2 tbsp coconut flakes

  • 2 tbsp grated apple (if you cant do FODMAP fruits they change this to 3 cut up strawberries)

  • a small handful of berries (blackberries, blueberries or raspberries are great)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Throw everything in a jar, screw the lid on top, shake, and pop it into the fridge.

  2. The next morning add a dash of milk on top, grab a spoon and enjoy
